TAS2 or TAS Plus

1.) run the program runs under Tas 2 to export the data to fxd writfxd.run  This program writes out .t files and .f files the .t files are your exported dictionaries and the .f files is the tas2 data in fixed format.

Note: One time I Had a problem using this program it turns out there was nothing wrong with the program it had to do with problems in the tas2 Dict files. In this case a previous program had added some test files to the systems and they were no longer valid data after I deleted these problems went away.

2.) Copy your .t and .f files into your tas 3 project folder.

TAS Pro 3

3.) In the TAS 3.0 System there is a program file called cvrttdtf.run this program will convert the TAS 2 dictionary to the TAS3 Dict this program is run under tas 3

Note : If you are using the pervasive SQL database engine you will have to rebuild your TASDICT.M and TASFILE.M files to at lease ver 6.15 as version 9 will not write data to the 5.10 Btrieve format it will read but not write. If you get a btrieve error #46 "Access to the requested file denied" this is probably your problem.

4.) Now you need to init your files delete all the data files .m files except for tasdict.m and tasfile.m

5.) to create empty btrieve files use the CAS program called newinit.run this will create empty files.

6.) readfxd.run to import this data. This program read the .f file data into your data files. After this is run it might be a good idea to reindex all of the files in the system. But at this point you now have tas 3 data files.

After this is done your TAS2 or TAS + data is in TAS3 Btrieve type files.
